Job description
Protocol Education are working with a school that caters for ages 11-16 and support students with a range of special needs that have either been excluded from mainstream schools, on respite from home schools or year 11 students without a school place.
Many of the students have social and emotional difficulties. The school are looking for a committed Teaching Assistants to join their team on a temp to permanent basis. An individual with a background in Science is an advantage.


The role will involve teaching small groups of students under the instruction of the class teacher. This is a challenging environment and will require resilience and strong behaviour management skills, previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant is desirable.
Other duties will include monitoring behaviour, helping to develop social skills and communication and providing feedback to SLT. The school is based close a mainline station. There is also parking available at the school. Key skills and experience needed:
·Previous support work within a school or other child related experience
·Professional manor, committed and resilient
·Enthusiasm and friendly approach
·Strong behaviour management skills
