Protocol Education are currently recruiting teaching assistants to join their team and work in an outstanding college to start from Sept 2022. This particular college caters for students with special needs such autism and physical disabilities, which focuses on numeracy/literacy, employability, sensory integration and life skills. As a teaching assistant you will be required to support young people on a one to one basis or support students within small classes ranging from 6 - 8 students per class. Your role will be to break down tasks for students in a way they are able to access, keep students engaged and promote a positive learning experience. Key focus of students is to develop numeracy/literacy, teach life skills such as cooking, shopping and washing, assist in vocational courses, support students with employability and take part in outdoor activities. 

The role: 

  • Location: Sutton, London
  • Monday to Thursday, with the option of Friday work. 
  • Working in small groups
  • Assisting students with numeracy/literacy and life skills
  • Supporting students one to one
  • Assisting students in vocational and work placements
  • Supporting students with creative lessons such as art, music and cooking
  • A year long rolling placement

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
