Sports Coach/Cover Supervisor

Are you a Sports Coach, Ex services, Police, Army or Navy?


Are you a sports coach or an ex-service person and have you considered a career in the teaching profession? If you are a sports coach or ex services (police, army, navy etc), this may be an opportunity for you. As a sports coach or ex services personnel you have a lot of the skills needed to work in the classroom.

You may already have most the all the skills needed to lead a classroom; and your leadership skills are important for a career in teaching.

Protocol Education can offer you the opportunity to gain a qualification and experience as a cover supervision; and this in turn will give you the opportunity to work in a classroom, which can set you on the road to a teaching career As a cover supervisor you will be expected to deliver lessons planned by the teacher to key stage 3 and 4 classes. The job will be rewarding and extremely varied; and you can expect to teach a range of subjects to different year groups.

Protocol Education works with a number of Pupil Referral Units in the West Midlands area. Through experience, sports coaches and ex services personnel work extremely well with less-engaged or challenging pupils so this is a real chance for you to make a difference to the lives of a group of pupils.

The cover supervisor's main job is to manage a classroom, ensuring that students remain on task with the work they have been set; strong classroom management is therefore vital for this role.

Many cover supervisors often go on to complete accredited teacher training through a number of different routes. Regardless, gaining experience as a cover supervisor is the perfect way for you to decide for yourself if teaching is for you!
