Job description
Speech and Language specialist Teaching Assistant required in North Leeds

Protocol Education require an individual who is skilled and qualified with supporting KS1 and KS2 children with experience of working with children, specifically with Speech and Language. This individual must have a drive to attain the best of their children's abilities by implementing strategies to engage children in work and wanting to learn.

The person must be able to handle challenging behaviour in a calm and structured manner and embed a rigorous timetable to enlighten children's enjoyment in their education and progress their attainment in this vital learning period. The school will provide support and a detailed understanding of the children as well as appropriate resources to implement your plans to ensure learning is engaging and structured.

This role is due to start September 2018 in a North Leeds school, and will continue initially until the end of the school year in July 2019. There is a strong potential this role will be temp to perm', and a permanent role will be available thereafter. They are looking for somebody to support a child with Speech and Language needs in the mornings, then as a general teaching assistant in KS1 in the afternoons.

You need to:
•Be a hard-working, outstanding role model
•Have experience in a classroom ideally with Speech and Language experience
•Be able to work with children of all ages from 5+ years old
•Be able to inspire and motivate pupils and parents
•Have high expectations for learning attitudes and behaviour
•Be creative and enthusiastic
•Have a structured and routine approach to day to day activities.
