Job description
I am currently looking for Specialist SEND support staff to work across the London Borough of Hounslow in a variety of short and long term supply contracts. Protocol Education works with Mainstream Primary and Secondary schools to improve their inclusion and SEND provision as well as SEND schools that cater for children with a range of differing needs.

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable experience whether it's because you want to train to be a teacher or a therapist in the future, working with children who need additional support is an incredibly challenging and rewarding experience. No day will be the same and the sense of achievement when they meet milestones with your help and encouragement is something that is worth all the energy, patience and passion you are asked to put into the role.

This type of work would suit anyone who has a background supporting children with SEND whether that be in a similar employment, volunteering or a more personal experience. You will need to have a strong academic background so if you are a recent graduate that is ideal, as you will work with children who have a range of different academic abilities so need to feel comfortable and confident with this. That confidence can come from a strong arts or drama background as well as subjects like sociology, psychology as well as subjects linked to English, Maths and Science.

Experience of specific training such as Makaton, PECs or Team Teach will be an advantage however the most important qualification you have is you. Your personality and enthusiasm for working with SEND is what will set you apart.

So if this sounds like the ideal role for you then please do get in touch!
