Protocol Education is recruiting Specialist SEN Teaching Assistants to join welcoming schools across Sunderland from September.

You'll work with pupils who require additional support due to Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, Speech and Language Needs (SLCN), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) and Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD). Every day is different, and every achievement is worth celebrating.

Role Details

• Full-time
• September 2026 start
• Monday-Friday
• Working hours between 8:30am-3:30pm and 8:30am-4:30pm
• Term-time only
• Long-term role with the potential to secure a permanent contract

Your responsibilities

• Providing tailored support to pupils with additional needs
• Delivering targeted interventions
• Supporting learning, communication and emotional development
• Building positive relationships with pupils and families
• Working alongside teachers, therapists and external professionals
• Helping create a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
