Protocol Education are looking for a Level 3 Teaching Assistant to work within a specialist Gateshead provision supporting children and young people with physical and medical needs.

This isn't simply a classroom support role. You'll help pupils access their learning, communicate, participate in school life and develop their independence.

You'll also have the opportunity to develop your experience with assistive technology and specialist equipment.

The Role Includes

• Providing personalised pupil support.
• Adapting learning resources and activities.
• Supporting physical and medical needs.
• Using specialist technology and equipment.
• Helping pupils access learning in different ways.
• Supporting communication and independence.
• Carrying out basic equipment checks.
• Working alongside specialist teachers.
• Liaising with other professionals and school staff.
• Monitoring and reporting on pupil progress.

What You Need

• Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
• Experience working with children with SEND.
• Knowledge of physical and/or medical needs.
• Good ICT skills.
• Strong communication and organisation.
• A flexible and solution-focused approach.
• Ability to work independently.
• Full, clean driving licence and access to a vehicle – essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
