We are working with an outstanding specialist College who are seeking learning support assistants to start long-term placements after Easter. This particular college provides further education to students with special needs such as autism, physical disabilities and speech & language difficulties who have left secondary education. As a teaching assistant you will be supporting students academically, developing life skills, social independence, participating in work placements and assisting in outdoor activities. This role is demanding, but very rewarding. The college are looking for individuals who have a passion working with special needs learners and are keen to gain experience and make a positive impact on the students learning & development.

Main responsibilities:
  • Supporting students on a one to one basis
  • Focusing learners development on numeracy/literacy
  • Teaching life skills & agriculture such as cooking, shopping, washing & gardening
  • Assisting with outdoor programs
