Specialist 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant
A committed and exciting role is coming up to work as a Specialist 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant from September 2022. This role will be based at a large secondary school in the Pudsey area and require a minimum of a 1-year commitment, to ensure consistency for the child who has a diagnosis of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD).
If you have experience working as a SEND Teaching Assistant, or within the care sector, this may be the perfect opportunity for you, to gain more specialist experience on a 1:1 basis.
Candidates will be passionate about working with in education/SEN, and will be able to demonstrate a caring attitude to the individual, personal and social needs of child being supported. Excellent communication, literacy, ICT skills and the ability to work as part of a team are essential requirements for this key role.
Requirements for the role:
- Ability to provide dedicated, 100% 1:1 support as a key worker for the student.
- Act as a scribe for all written tasks and all typing to be done, as and when needed.
- Support throughout lessons to ensure work is provided/adapted/accessible.
- Accurate record keeping skills.
- Dedication to developing an in-depth knowledge of the child’s needs, and liaising with staff/family where needed.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
