Job description
Protocol Education are working with well-established SEND School based in Lewisham, who are seeking a learning support assistant to work within their school on a long term basis. They are seeking someone in their Primary phase to work 1:1 with a pupil with SEMH and behavioural needs. The school have mainly SEMH pupils so it is vital that you have experience with this type of SEND. This school pride themselves on their sporting abilities, so they are seeking someone who is open to doing sports for part of the school day. The School has both Primary and Secondary aged pupils who attend so if you come from a secondary background they are open to seeing what you have to offer.
The school has on-site parking as well as has excellent transport links; specifically there is a bus stop a 6 minute walk away from the school.

The role:

• 5 days a week, term time only
• 8:30-4:00pm
• Based in the Borough of Lewisham
• Working 1:1 with 1 Primary aged pupil
• Working immediately until Summer 2019

You must have:
• Experience of working with PECs or Makaton
• At least 6 to 12 months experience working with SEHM and challenging behaviour
• Experience of supporting pupils of a Primary or Secondary age
