Protocol Education are recruiting care professionals who want to explore a career as a teaching assistant. As a teaching assistant, you will be working full time in one of our special needs schools located in the borough of Greenwich. The school are looking for specialist care teaching assistants to provide support for academic studies, developing communication skills and engaging students with sensory integration. As part of the role you will be working 1:1 or lead small groups of learners with special needs such as severe learning difficulties and physical disabilities.

As a specialist provision, the school require someone who is experienced or open about working in special needs. As part of the role, we offer accredited CPD that include learning strategies, behaviour techniques and medical procedures. If you have experience working as a support worker but would like to work more sociable hours, this is the ideal role for you. All experience working/volunteering with vulnerable adults or children will be considered as long as you are passionate about working with special needs.

Main Duties:
• Supporting students 1:1 with numeracy & literacy
• Developing social & communication skills through sensory integration
• Assessing pupils' levels and ability
• Comfortable or open to supporting learners with personal care
