Protocol Education is looking for a special needs teaching assistant to work in a primary special needs school in the London borough of Croydon on a long term basis. A special needs teaching assistant needs to provide a high level of support to children with a range of learning difficulties including ASD (autism), complex needs and PMLD.
This school has a wonderful reputation for really understanding the individual needs of the children. They are able to create a bespoke care plan and curriculum with the input of a multidisciplinary team including parents/guardians, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, physiotherapists, learning support workers and teachers.

The senior leadership team ensures all staff are kept up to date with relevant training when supporting and teaching the children. Once you join the school you will enrol on the CPD programme consisting of Makaton, PECS (picture exchange communications system), Epi-pen, manual handing and PEG feeding if appropriate.

The school boasts of multisensory den that follows a theme and then enhances the children's learning experiences. They also have a purpose-built hydrotherapy pool allowing children to take part in physio sessions in the water, and a soft play environment to support Physical Development, Communication, Social Interaction and to provided a safe place to play.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
