Job description
Special Needs Teacher



An Outstanding' special needs school in Kensington & Chelsea are looking for a teacher to provide a high quality and inclusive education for all students through inspiring and imaginative planning and preparation. This position has become available after a resignation and now the school are looking for a suitable replacement.

Preferable

•An SEN teacher with ASDAN training and experience

Key Duties and Responsibilities

•Actively support the wellbeing of all students
•To ensure a high quality education for all students
•To plan effectively for a highly individualised and multi-sensory curriculum to ensure that all students have the opportunity to reach their potential
•To inspire students to be actively in subjects taught
•To support students with challenging behaviour using individual strategies for each student including the use of positive intervention
•To set cover work during any leave of absence
•To prepare Individual Education Plans (IEP's) in accordance with each students' needs and abilities
•To lead and manage a class team
•To ensure the appropriate deployment of the Learning Support Assistants and the use of resources
•To work with the Headteacher and other staff to develop a bespoke secondary curriculum
•To be able to communicate with children and young people with a wide range of complex conditions/disabilities together with a range of physical difficulties
•To participate in continuing professional development, attending INSET courses as appropriate and communicating outcomes to colleagues



We undertake safeguarding checks on all our workers in accordance with the DfE statutory guidance Keeping Children Safe in Education'. As part of these checks, we require a current Enhanced DBS Disclosure for everyone working in schools. If you do not have a valid subscription to the DBS Update Service, we will require you to complete a new DBS application as part of the registration process, at a cost of £44.00
