Protocol Education are looking for support workers to work in an outstanding specialist college working with special needs students that have a diagnosis of autism, speech & language difficulties and require development in social awareness & understanding. As a support worker you will required to develop both academic studies and life skills such as; shopping, cooking and working within the community. As part of the role you will be working 1:1 or lead small groups of learners. As a specialist provision, the college requires someone who is open about working in special needs and is keen to develop their skills. As part of the role, you will have the opportunity to gain accredited CPD that includes strategies and techniques to manage behaviour.

Main Duties:
  • Supporting students 1:1 with numeracy, literacy & sensory integration
  • Encouraging social skills and independent living through community work such as shopping, visiting the local farm & cooking
  • Assessing pupils' levels and ability
  • Behaviour management
  • Work as part of a team
