Job description
***Special Needs Support***

Protocol Education are pleased to be working in sole partnership with a Special Education Needs Primary School in the London Borough of Hackney, who are looking for dedicated, proactive Teaching Assistants to work in the school in both part-time and full-time roles from September.
The school is committed to delivering specialist education services to Primary-aged children and young adults with a wide range of learning difficulties and/or profound and multiple learning disabilities.

They currently require a full time ASD specialist to work in a KS1 class, and a part-time Teaching Assistant for a PMLD KS2 class.. Both roles will be for a full school day, focused on supporting the teacher in a small class of 6-8 children in delivering tailored lesson plans. For both roles, you will need to be comfortable providing personal care. The latter role is available for 3 days per week, with flexibility on what days are available.

The roles will be subject to a 12 week initial trial period and a permanent contract thereafter providing both parties are in acceptance.

The ideal candidates will have:
• Strong ability and skills to keep students involved and "on track"
• Excellent support and motivation
• Previous experience working children with Special Education Needs
• Flexibility to adapt to unique situations and requirements
• Team Teach experience (although this will be provided via on job training)
• An outstanding track record being reliable, professional, hardworking and punctual
• Hold a current enhanced DBS on the update service or be prepared to apply for a new one
• 2 recent references that can be verified

If you have experience working with children or young adults with special education needs, and are interested in making a positive contribution to the lives of young people, please send your CV or call Simon on 020 3219 7740.
