Special Needs Classroom Assistant in Reigate

1:1 Special Needs Assistant - Jan Start

Protocol Education are currently looking for an inspiring and passionate individual with excellent interpersonal skills to provide 1:1 support to a young child with complex learning difficulties. The school we are recruiting for is a wonderful Secondary SEN school close to the Reigate area, who have brought in incredible initiatives over the past 18 months to provide more development opportunities to their pupils. The pupils in the school have a range of special needs including Autism, ADHD, Downs Syndrome and SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs.

The position we are currently recruiting for is for the role of a general classroom TA within an SEN school. Within the role you will be required to actively take part in the pupils lessons, helping them to undertake their academic and practical tasks. You must have fantastic communication and interpersonal skills as a lot of the pupils in the school have ASD (Autism) and require someone who understand the needs of an Autistic person.

The successful candidate will:

Be enthusiastic and flexible with a very "hands-on" approach
Be prepared to get involved with school life and make a positive contribution to the school
Have fantastic interpersonal skills
Have first class communication skills
Be passionate about making a difference
MAPPA training is desirable but not essential
Be available full time from January 2019
Have SEMH experience
PRU experience is desirable
