Protocol Education are recruiting teaching assistants to work full time in one of our special needs schools located in Wandsworth. The school are looking for specialist care teaching assistants to provide support for academic studies, developing communication skills and engaging students with sensory integration. As part of the role you will be working 1:1 or lead small groups of learners with special needs such as severe learning difficulties and physical disabilities.

As a specialist provision, the school require someone who is experienced or open about working in special needs. As part of the role, we offer accredited CPD that include learning strategies, behaviour techniques and medical procedures. As an additional benefit, the school offer residential shift work in the evening and mornings supporting learners in a home setting. Shifts are optional and are separate from working in the school.

Main Duties:
• Supporting students 1:1 with numeracy & literacy
• Developing social & communication skills through sensory integration
• Assessing pupils' levels and ability
• Comfortable or open to supporting learners with personal care
