Protocol Education are currently recruiting care experienced teaching assistants to work in an outstanding special needs school with students aged 3 - 19. As a teaching assistant you will have to opportunity work with a variety of students with special needs that include; autism, physical disabilities and speech & language difficulties. Class sizes are reduced and cater for 6 - 8 students per class, enabling you to build a strong understanding of the students needs and develop a more strategic approach to their development & learning. This role requires flexibility, enthusiasm, good communication skills and the ability to work 1-1 or with small groups on specific programmes if required.

Key responsibilities:
  • Developing students cognitive functions through sensory integration and utilising the sensory room
  • Focusing in speech & language skills and understanding social cues
  • Ensuring students engage with lessons, providing academic support and working under the instruction of the class teacher.
  • Assisting with swimming
