Protocol Education are recruiting teaching assistants to work full time in one of our special needs schools located in Lewisham. This particular school are looking for teaching assistants with special needs experience or experience working in the care sector and are looking to transition into education. As a teaching assistant you will provide support for academic studies, developing communication skills and engaging students with sensory integration. In addition, you will be working 1:1 or lead small groups of learners with special needs such as autism, severe learning difficulties, challenging behaviour and physical disabilities.

Main Duties:

• Supporting students 1:1 with numeracy & literacy
• Developing social & communication skills through sensory integration
• Assessing pupils' levels and ability
• Managing student behaviours and developing an understanding of social cues
• Working as part of a team
