Special Educational Needs Preschool Practitioner

Job Description

Our Preschool Nursery is looking to recruit a Special Educational Needs support worker with a Level 3 qualification and a Special Needs Qualification.

The position would involve working with a child on a 1 to 1 basis as well as a small group of Special needs children We are looking for someone with the passion and commitment to drive the child's progress and make a real difference to their education & well-being

The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following:
Experience of working in an Early Years Setting
Previous experience of working with children with SEN
Understanding of how best to support a child with SEN
A good level of literacy and numeracy skills
Excellent written and spoken communication skills, organisational skill and good general communication skills to liaise with staff members, parents and outside agencies.
To contribute a high standard of physical, emotional, social and intellectual care for children placed in the nursery;
To give support to the other personnel within the nursery;
To implement the daily routine in the base room (e.g. the room in which your
main duties are carried out)
Work with children;
Team work:
Liaise with parents/carers.
Responsible To: To the Nursery Director and Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities


To keep a proper record of achievement file on your key children, for parents/carers;
Work alongside parents/carers of special needs children to provide full integration in the nursery;
Support all staff and engage in a good staff team
Liaise with and support parents/carers and other family members;
Our Preschool promotes high quality early years care & education in safe stimulating environment. This is a term time position of up to 37.5hours per week. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. DBS checks required.
