An outstanding primary school which is committed to providing individualised learning, support and opportunities for pupils with severe learning difficulties, complex needs and autism based in the borough of Southwark is currently looking for an experienced special education needs teacher to join their team at the beginning of September. The role requires that you work Monday to Friday during the hours of 08:15 16:00.

The ideal candidate for this role will have had experience working as a SEN teacher with children who have SLD or MLD and have a strong passion for enriching children lives with special needs. Some level of personal care will be required.

You will be able to work 1:1 or in small groups keeping pupils engaged with lessons ensuring that the school's vision of excellence is maintained. It is important that you are confident in being able to plan lessons and give direction to the teaching assistants who will be working with you.

• Confident in managing a class of pupils
• Able to come up with creative approaches to keep students engaged with the learning process.
• Available to start immediately and able to commit for at least 6 months.
• Able to prepare lesson plans and adapt them when needed.
• Comfortable assessing the classes progress and contributing to educational health care plans.
• Able to provide a reference from the last two years working in SEN School.

An enhanced DBS is required by law to work with children, if you do not have one on the update service, you must be prepared to apply for one through Protocol Education at the cost of £40.
