KS2 SEND Teaching Assistant, Austism specialist

This Outstanding' school, based in WF6, Wakefield are keen to appoint a full-time permanent Teaching Assistant with experience working in both 1:1 and small group settings, to support Key Stage 2 students with varying levels of Autism.

They are looking for a caring, enthusiastic, and energetic person with proven skills who can provide support for two children in Year 5 with Autism, in the classroom and during playtime.

This post will suit candidates who are committed to working positively to provide the best learning opportunities for their pupil and who are committed to developing themselves professionally. You will need to have excellent behaviour management skills and will need to have had prior experience working with children with Autism. Preferable training would also include Team Teach, Makaton and PECS.

The school are a close-knit school with a supportive head teacher and a very welcoming teaching and support team.

The role is full time Monday- Friday 8:30am-3:30 pm and salary ranges from £65.00-£90.00 per day.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
