If you answered yes to the above, then this SLD Teaching Assistant role is for you!

Here at Protocol Education, we are currently working with a SEN School who is looking to employ a SLD Teaching Assistant immediately. You will be based in a small class of 6 students with Severe Learning Difficulties. You will be supporting them with very low-level Maths and English as well as other subjects, activities that will help develop their life and social and with therapy sessions.

Due to the student’s needs, this school is looking for someone who has previously worked as a SLD Teaching Assistant or has come from a care background and has a nurturing way. This SEN School is located in Sutton and caters for students aged between 4-18 years with Autistic Spectrum Disorder, Multi-Sensory Impairment, Severe Learning Difficulty and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulty.

They currently have 90 students who attend and in their last Ofsted in July 2021, they were reviewed as 'Outstanding' in all areas.


As the successful Teaching Assistant, you will be expected to assist with feeding and on occasions provide personal care. You will liaise with the class teachers and healthcare professionals daily, adhering to Education Healthcare Plans ensuring all students are happy, comfortable and getting the most from their school day.

You must have a DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for a new one. In return, Protocol Education will offer you :

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
