Job description
Severe Autism Teaching Assistant

A specialist secondary school for autistic children in Ealing are looking for support workers with the ability to work with challenging behaviours and severely autistic children between the ages of 9 16.

The school can customise a creative and engaging curriculum for all students enabling everyone to progress and develop. The school pride themselves on offering students a caring and bespoke curriculum creating a positive atmosphere for all.

This role is purely for those who want to make a young person's life better and if you are someone that believes that all it takes is one person that can inspire someone who generally cares about making a difference this role is right for you.


The ideal candidates for this position will have:
•A good sense of humour
•The ability to create and maintain relationships
•Strong communication skills
•A creative personality
•A willingness to learn
•Good understanding of special education needs and in particular autism
•Experience in managing challenging behaviour

To work in this school you need to be committed in giving children the best care. The school trust individuals to work 1:1 but to also offer additional support to those that need it at particularly challenging times. Empathy is a key component to a successful candidate for this position.

If you can commit to this position you will be given the opportunity to access the CPD programme at the school giving you valuable experience and recognised qualifications such as studio 3, Epilepsy and Midazolam and First Aid.
