Protocol Education are currently recruiting teaching assistants who have a drama background to work in one of our outstanding special needs school located in Kingston. This outstanding school is offering consisting work and flexibility to candidates that have prearranged drama commitments.

As a teaching assistant you will be required to create a setting that will inspire each child to become self-confident, independent life-learners who can confidently express themselves and make their own choice, whilst safeguarding, their happiness and safety. This particular school caters to the needs of children and young people between the ages of 4 and 12 years who have significant learning difficulties including those with an additional diagnosis of autism, and those with additional medical needs. Given the current circumstance with schools being temporarily closed, this role is set to start in September 2020. However, this is subject to change and hopefully the role will be able to start sooner..

Main Duties:
• Engaging students through creative lessons such as art, song and dance
• Helping with sensory integration within the classroom
• Working with the teacher to assess pupils' levels and ability
• Ensuring the schools ethos and policies are being implemented
• Liaising with parents and carers
