Job description
Protocol Education are looking for experienced teaching assistants that are looking for flexible day to day work that are experienced working with children with special needs such as profound multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and speech and language difficulties.
Teaching assistants will be required to work with SEN students across all ages in our outstanding SEN schools. Successful candidates will be required to cover absences on a daily basis and will be expected to work both on a one to one or group basis with children with either PMLD, ASD or speech and language difficulties in a specialised setting.

As a specialist LSA, successful candidates will need the following experience and skills:
•To have worked one to one and lead groups with children with special needs such as PMLD, ASD and speech and language difficulties.
•Experience working with children with challenging behaviour.
•Excellent communication skills, the ability to use initiative and work well under pressure.
•Be able to differentiate work to support needs of children.
•Experience in personal care such as feeding and changing.
•PECS and Makaton experience

As part of these checks, we require a current Enhanced DBS Disclosure for everyone working in schools. If you do not have a valid subscription to the DBS Update Service, we will require you to complete a new DBS application as part of the registration process, at a cost of £44.00
