Protocol Education are currently recruiting teaching assistants to work full time in an outstanding special needs school located in Merton. As a specialist school, you will be required to support students with a range of needs that include autism, physical disabilities and other severe learning difficulties. Teaching assistants will have the opportunity to work one to one or assist within a class of 6 - 8 students per class, enabling you to tailor the work to meet the individual needs of the students. Other responsibilities includes; developing social awareness, communication skills, numeracy & literacy, speech & language.

Although school experience is important, the school are open to recruiting candidates with some form of childcare experience who are willing to learn and develop their skills within a new environment.

Main Duties:
  • Supporting students 1:1 with numeracy & literacy
  • Developing social & communication skills through sensory integration
  • Assessing pupils' levels and ability
  • Comfortable or open to supporting learners with personal care
