SEND Teaching Assistant – PMLD & Complex Needs

Location: Chesterfield and Mansfield
Salary: £83–£100 per day, paid weekly via PAYE
Contract: Full-time, long-term
Start date: Immediate

We’re working with a specialist school supporting pupils with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD) and complex medical and physical needs. They’re looking for a compassionate, resilient SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team full-time.

This is a hands-on role where your support genuinely changes lives. No two days are the same, but every day comes with purpose, progress, and plenty of heart.

What your days will look like

  • Supporting pupils with complex learning, physical, and medical needs

  • Assisting with personal care, mobility, and feeding routines

  • Using specialist equipment and communication tools, with full training provided

  • Creating a calm, safe, and sensory-rich environment where pupils can thrive

What we’re looking for

  • A calm, caring, and adaptable approach

  • Resilience and a willingness to get stuck in and learn new skills

  • Experience in SEND, care, or relevant lived or personal experience

  • A big heart and a team-first mindset, kindness really matters here

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
