SEND Teaching Assistant (New Resource Base)

A welcoming and inclusive primary school in North Bristol is opening a brand new SEND Resource Base in September 2026, and we’re looking for experienced SEND Teaching Assistants to join the founding team.

This isn’t just another TA role. It’s an opportunity to help shape a specialist provision from the very beginning, creating an environment where children with additional needs feel safe, understood and ready to thrive.

The role

You’ll work within the new Resource Base, supporting pupils with a range of SEND needs, helping them access learning, build confidence and develop independence.

You’ll be:

• Supporting pupils with SEND in a specialist setting
• Delivering tailored interventions and learning activities
• Working closely with teachers, therapists and the SEND team
• Encouraging communication, emotional regulation and social development
• Building trusted relationships with pupils and families
• Helping create a calm, structured and nurturing environment

We’re looking for people who:

• Have experience supporting children with SEND
• Understand autism, communication needs or SEMH
• Are patient, adaptable and resilient
• Believe that relationships come first
• Want to be part of building an outstanding provision from the ground up
