A community-based independent specialist college, based in the Leicestershire area with 4 sites (including a café), supporting students aged between 16 and 25 years with a variety of needs including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD) and Social, Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH).

They require a proactive, flexible, empathetic and reliable Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join their learning support team. The successful candidate will understand the importance of a person-centred approach and ensure the students' learning is a positive experience. You will be required to provide general classroom support as well as working on a one-to-one basis or in small groups when required.
Previous experience of working with students with SEN is a desirable, however those wishing to gain experience in this field are more than welcome to apply for the position. Training can be provided to successful candidates.
The college promotes independency throughout the learning of their students, to support them on their journey to Employment and Independent Living.
Applicants must be willing to assist with personal care when required.

Ideal Candidate:
Previous SEN experience - highly desirable
Willingness to train and complete courses relating to SEN
Proactive and flexible
Willing to provide personal care - desirable.
Makaton experience - desirable.
Manual Handling/Team Teach/NAPPI training - highly desirable.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
