Job description
I am currently working with a small Roman Catholic Primary school close to uxbridge, who are looking to recruit a full time SEND Teaching Assistant for a January start.

This school is genuinely a lovely place to work, from the Head Teacher, down to the senior leadership team and all the staff you will find the school a warm and welcoming place to work as together they aim to cultivate a feeling of community as well as ensuring that all staff have the right support in place.

In this role you will be working on a one to one basis with a child who has SEND in their Reception Class. You will be working with this child to support with the daily routine, helping him to integrate in activities supported by the Early years foundation stage curriculum. You will be working together with the Reception Teacher to provide a safe and nurturing environment where the child can develop key skills.

Ideally we are looking for SEND Teaching Assistants who have experience of working with children who have SEND in a previous role, in order to bring knowledge and effective strategies to support the child effectively. Skills in supporting with communication such as PECs would be an advantage as well as experience with sensory stimulation and play. The role would suit someone who has a calm and patient nature as well as someone who is able to implement positive behaviour support strategies. You will need to have a pro-active, can do attitude and be flexible to adapt to the changing needs of the child and the school as a whole.
