We are working with a Primary school in Trowbridge, Wiltshire who are looking to appoint an SEN Teaching Assistants, ideally with experience of working with children with ASD

The appointed Teaching Assistant will be working primarily with an ASD child with an EHCP, they will also be expected to work with small groups of children to raise attainment and lead intervention groups to enable the children to gain positive relationships with their peers and increase their independence.

The role will also involve supporting this child during break times and lunch times. The successful individuals will support the Class Teacher in the teaching and welfare of the assigned individual, ensuring they attain the targets set. Dealing with the behavioural, communication, social and emotional development of the children is integral to these roles.

The role is initially for mornings only, between 8.15 - 1.15 to cover lunch duty, but has the potential to be made full time depending on the success of the applicant

• Able to develop an understanding of the educational, welfare and social needs of the child with whom you are supporting
• Able to stay calm and objective when presented with unusual or challenging behaviour
• Enthusiastic and committed to working as part of a team, including working closely with outside agencies
• Able to relate exceptionally well with children and to go that extra mile to help them achieve
• Experienced of Primary School environments
