Job description
SEND Teacher Required

A PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties) Teacher is required in a beautiful school in Croydon. The school itself is a well-run special school for students aged 3-19. Every pupil at the school is treated as an individual with specific programmes developed to meet their needs, therefore a holistic approach is provided to learning through the expertise of a qualified multi-disciplinary staff team.

The class sizes are small due to the nature of the impairments and the maximum capacity is 6 children in each class. There is excellent-in class support provided by experienced high-level Teaching Assistants which helps to support the ratio of adults to pupils in the school.
The role requires you to be a confident teacher and experience working with PMLD and SLD (Severe Learning Difficulties) or ASD (Autistic Spectrum Condition) children would be beneficial but is not essential. You will be required to teach and help plan lessons as well as proactively participate in the general running of the school. You must be vigilant with regards to pupil's wellbeing but most importantly it is essential that you are able to think outside the box' and employ a creative attitude to teaching every child.

Main Duties:

• Assessing pupil's levels and ability
• Differentiating work based on students' needs and abilities
• Good behaviour management of the class room
• Ensuring the schools ethos and policies are being implemented
• Liaising with parents and carers
• Reporting back to the headteacher

To apply for this role you must have QTS.

Successful candidates will benefit from:
•Excellent daily rates through PAYE
•Support throughout your placement from an experienced SEND consultant
•Local work
•Free CPD
•Opportunity to work additional hours

If you have all these qualities and would like to work with Protocol, please submit your CV to priya.ganatra@protocol-education.com.
We look forward to hearing from you!

Here at Protocol Education, we strive to ensure that each and every candidate has an opportunity to find their ideal job. For a number of years we are proud to have worked alongside fantastic institutions of learning (Primary, Secondary and SEND) to provide them with high quality teachers and support staff.

We undertake safeguarding checks on all our workers in accordance with the DfE statutory guidance Keeping Children Safe in Education'. As part of these checks, we require a current Enhanced DBS Disclosure for everyone working in schools. If you do not have a valid subscription to the DBS Update Service, we will require you to complete a new DBS application as part of the registration process, at a cost of £44.00
