Job description
Are you a qualified secondary teacher, with experience teaching pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)? Do you have excellent behavioural and classroom management skills?


Protocol Education currently require a secondary school teacher (or a strong primary teacher) to work in a fantastic pupil referral unit (PRU) in Newham. As this role involves working with pupils with challenging behaviour and complex needs, candidates must have previous SEND experience and outstanding behaviour and classroom management skills.


Class sizes are small (no more than 6 pupils per class), and excellent support is in place both within the classroom and throughout the school.


For this role, you will;

• Be a qualified teacher, with QTS
• Be able to commit to a full-time role, 5 days a week
• Have previous experience working with children, or young adults, with different educational needs
• Outstanding behavioural and classroom management skills
• A good knowledge of the national curriculum or confident in supporting small groups with particular subject/s (e.g.
Numeracy, literacy booster groups)
• Cable of dealing with challenging behaviour, promoting focus, classroom management and on-going 1:1 support where
necessary
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• General knowledge / good understanding of ASD and complex needs as well as effective approaches to facilitate
complete access to the curriculum
