Job description
Are you a qualified secondary teacher with QTS? Do you have experience, or a passion for, working with pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)?

A fantastic independent school in Newham (a two-minute walk from St George's V DLR tube station) requires an experienced and passionate secondary teacher for this term and potential beyond for the right candidate.

This school caters for pupils with ASD and complex needs, as well as those with challenging behaviours. However, class sizes are small and support in the classroom, and throughout the school, is excellent. As this role will involve you working with pupils with a range of different SEND requirements, previous experience teaching pupils in a SEND setting is desirable.

Ideally, you will:
• Be able to commit to a full-time role (5 days per week)
• Be a qualified English teacher with QTS
• Have previous or existing experience working with children with different educational needs
• Confidence differentiating lessons for pupils with a range of different academic abilities
• A good knowledge of the national curriculum or confident in supporting small groups with particular subject/s (e.g.
Numeracy, literacy booster groups)
• Capable of dealing with challenging behaviour, promoting focus, classroom management and on-going 1:1 support where
necessary
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Familiarity with instructional approaches required to facilitate complete access to the curriculum for pupils with ASD as well
as speech and communication difficulties

In return, Protocol Education offers its candidates:
• Excellent rates of pay
• Professional support from our team of experienced consultants
• Continued support through all placements
• Free CPD courses
• Team teacher training provided within the first 12 weeks of registering with Protocol

If this role is of interest to you, please feel free to contact Aiden at Protocol Education on 0203 219 7745 for further information. Alternatively, please send an updated CV to Aiden.Kelly@protocol-education.com
