About the School

We’re working with a specialist SEND setting supporting pupils aged 6–16 with Autism, ADHD, SEMH needs, and communication differences.

Many of the pupils have experienced disrupted education, so the focus here is on:

This is a calm, structured environment where relationships come first and every small success is valued.

This is teaching with purpose.

✅ Time to actually teach

The Role

We are seeking a reflective, committed, and compassionate teacher to work across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, delivering a personalised curriculum tailored to individual needs.

You will teach small classes, supported by consistent Learning Support Assistants, enabling you to focus on meaningful learning and individual progress.

The aim is to help pupils work towards outcomes that are:

  • Ambitious
  • Realistic
  • Relevant to their future

Curriculum & Pathways

The curriculum is flexible and designed around pupil readiness, including:

  • Functional Skills (English & Maths)
  • Entry Level qualifications
  • AQA Unit Awards
  • EDUCAS pathways
  • ASDAN programmes

Experience delivering or supporting accredited pathways and adapting learning for SEND pupils is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons
  • Support pupils with Autism, ADHD, SEMH and communication needs
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with students
  • Work closely with LSAs and the wider multidisciplinary team
  • Monitor progress and contribute to EHCP targets and reviews
  • Create a calm, structured, and supportive classroom environment

About You

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Holds QTS (or equivalent)
  • Has experience within SEND, alternative provision, or SEMH settings
  • Is patient, resilient, and emotionally intelligent
  • Understands the importance of consistency and routine
  • Is passionate about helping young people re-engage with education
  • Can deliver or adapt accredited learning pathways

What’s on Offer

  • A genuinely supportive and nurturing environment
  • Small class sizes and excellent staff ratios
  • Strong focus on staff wellbeing and development
  • Opportunity to make a real, lasting impact
  • Ongoing CPD and SEND-specific training
