Some teaching roles are about hitting targets.

This one’s about changing lives.

We’re working with supportive schools looking for a SEND Teacher to work with pupils who need a more personalised, understanding approach to learning. You’ll be teaching children with additional needs, including autism, and helping them build confidence, independence, and trust in education.

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Holds QTS or equivalent teaching qualification
  • Has experience with SEND, especially autism (or a strong interest in developing this)
  • Is patient, adaptable, and genuinely caring
  • Builds strong relationships with pupils and staff
  • Brings creativity and flexibility into the classroom

What your day might look like:

  • Delivering tailored lessons that meet individual needs
  • Creating a calm, structured, and inclusive classroom
  • Supporting pupils with communication, emotional regulation, and engagement
  • Working closely with support staff, SENCOs, and families
  • Celebrating progress, no matter how small

What makes this role special:

This isn’t about rushing through the curriculum.

It’s about those breakthrough moments, when a child joins in, speaks up, or simply feels safe enough to try.

You’ll have the time, support, and flexibility to teach in a way that works for your pupils.

What the school offers:

  • A genuinely supportive SLT who understand SEND
  • Smaller class sizes and additional support staff
  • Ongoing CPD and specialist training
  • A positive, team-focused environment

What you’ll get with Protocol Education:

  • Free access to CPD, including SEND and behaviour training
  • A consultant who listens and gets what you’re looking for
  • Roles in schools where you can make a real impact

You’re not just teaching lessons.

You’re helping children believe they can learn, belong, and succeed.

If that sounds like your kind of classroom, let’s talk.

Apply now or get in touch to find out more.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see the FAQs on the Protocol Education website for further details.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.

Protocol Education is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. We undertake safeguarding checks on all workers in accordance with the DfE statutory guidance ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’, this may also include an online search as part of our due diligence on shortlisted applicants.
We offer FREE online safeguarding and Prevent Duty training to all our workers. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and subscribe to the DBS Update Service.

Full assistance provided. For details of our privacy policy, please see visit the Protocol Education website.
