Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant

SEND - Graduate/SEN TA role - Secondary School - North Leeds

I am currently working with the SEN department in a mainstream secondary school who are currently recruiting for two SEN TA's.

The secondary school in North Leeds are looking for dynamic teaching assistants who are energetic and passionate about their input into a child's education. The teaching assistant will be supporting students in KS3 & KS4 across their subjects. The teaching assistant's primary role will be to ensure each student is fulfilling the learning objective for each lesson.

There are SEND children within each class and your role will be to support their individual needs. The needs include ADHD, ASD, dyslexia, global delay, SEMH, physical and behavioural challenges. Experience working with one or more of these is ideal for this role.

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable experience, whether you are a aspiring teacher, psychologist or looking to enter to health-care field.

This is also a teacher training school meaning that successful TAs can consequently be enrolled on to the School's Direct Teacher Training Programme.

Starting date of this role, Monday 6th September 2021, full time. Hour's tbc, approx., 8:30am 3:15pm. Term time only.

Requirements of this role:
• Degree as minimum qualification unless substantial experience working with young people or other relevant qualifications.
• Experience working with young individuals. Ideally ages 11- 18yeas.
• Knowledge and some experience working with students with special educational needs.
• Patient, approachable & supportive individual, who has a passion for supporting young children.
• Ability to work independently as well as effectively co-operate in a team.
• Be available full time, from 6th September 2021.
• Hold DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for a new one.
