I am looking to recruit a SEND Teaching Assistant to work with a 6th form class within a Special School in Leeds.
The position is due to commence immediately and will run until the end of the academic year. There is the option to continue into the new academic year in September and also to move onto a permanant contract with the school.
The position is 8:45 - 3:30, 4 days a week (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday), although could be full time if this suites better.
The position involves working with Post 16 learners with a range of complex needs. You will be involved not only in the teaching and learning aspect of school, but also with vocational and life skills - supporting and developing each individuals social and emotional needs ready for life after education.
This role would suit individuals from a care background or graduates looking to gain experience working in Special Education.
We require applicant to hold an enhanced DBS for Children, maintained on the update service. Due to the immediacy of this position, candidates already having this will be prioritised, although there are a number of other roles elsewhere in the school that may be suitable for applicants needing to complete this process.
