Protocol Education is looking for an experienced learning support assistant in a happy, safe and stimulating environment helping to develop students between the ages 11-19, with complex and moderate learning difficulties with Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

 

Our client is based in Feltham and are passionate about putting children at the heart of education. Working in SEN, it is important to ensure and encourage independence, life skills and self-confidence for every individual pupil.

Specific duties:

- Help SEN pupils to achieve their full potential and build their confidence.

- Working alongside teachers to assess pupils’ levels and abilities.

- Using widget symbols and sign language to communicate and teach students daily.

- Liaising with parents and carers regularly.

- Working in a classroom environment as well as on a 1:1 basis.

 

Requirements:

- Must be confident to support young people between ages 11-19 in developing their skills.

- Flexible to start immediately and work 5 days a week.

- Experience in mentoring, teaching, carer for those who have challenging behaviour or complex learning difficulties.

- Passionate about working in SEN.

- Be able to provide a valid DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for one.

- Be able to provide 2 references from most recent employers.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
