Job description

Protocol Education work with SEND schools and pupil referral units based in the Beds/ Bucks and Herts area and we are always seeking to appoint dedicated, reliable, passionate and adaptable agency staff for daily and long-term teaching assistant roles.

You will need the ability to manage very challenging and extreme behaviour to join their support team as some schools cater for pupils who have been excluded from mainstream schooling. This could be due to social and emotional mental health difficulties and offers positive outcomes to young people of school age who have disengaged or are at the point of disengaging with education. Others could be children with complex/severe to mild learning difficulties or disabilities that effect their mobility.

• Key skills and experience needed:
• Experience working with SEN individuals whether it be children or adults
• Background as a care-worker / Support-worker / residential worker
• Previous support work within a school or other child related experience
• Strong behaviour management and confident with challenging behaviour
• Behaviour management / escalation prevention / Manual handling training or equivalent a bonus
• Driver would be great but not essential
