Protocol Education are currently recruiting for one of our Partnership schools In Leeds, a large primary school based in LS9. The school are in need of some additional support to start in September to work full-time with a SEND pupil moving into a Year 3 class.
The position involves supporting a challenging pupil with Autism (ASC), managing his behaviour and keeping him on task in lessons. The school need someone who can work with the pupil both inside the classroom as well as in the pupils own learning area if required.
We expect the successful individual to be able to use their initiative well in these situations and know when to intervene and diffuse effectively.
The school is a mainstream primary setting based in LS9 that most recently have been rates as "Good" by Ofsted. They are an academy setting and are part of a wider group of schools within a multi-academy trust. This is a two-form entry setting that has a large proportion of EAL and SEN children.
- Have a very patient and calm approach.
- Have previous experience working with Autism and ideally Autism Training.
- Have a resilient mindset.
- Have previous school based experience relevant to the role.
- Have a passion for working with SEND and additional needs.
