Job description
A friendly SEN Hearing Impairment School in the heart of Oswestry is looking for a Teaching Assistant to join their Team for an ASAP start. The Headteacher is looking for someone that is competent in British Sign Language (BSL) to at least a Level 2. The role will involve you supporting two students across the School utilising the use of the techniques and training provided by the School.

The ideal candidate must be confident within their ability using British Sign Language (BSL) as they will be working with Deaf students on a daily basis. The SENCo has mentioned that this role will allow you to work alongside her with day to day tasks and will give you a fantastic insight into working with SEN children.

JOB DESCRIPTION

SEN BSL Teaching Assistant
Supporting students that are partly deaf or deaf
Utilising the use of British Sign Language (BSL)
Working alongside the SENCo and working with Education Health Care Plans
Long-term & full-time position
Enhanced rates due to experience and abilities

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Having a degree is ideal, but not essential
It's essential that you have previous experience using Bright Sign Language (BSL) either professionally or in your personal life
Must be a caring and supportive individual that is prepared to put the children first
understanding of the SEN curriculum
