This specialist centre strives to provide services that help KS3/KS4 learners in tough situations to turn their lives around, and develop the necessary skills to return to mainstream school.
Acting as one of a number of sites which work together to deliver programmes to young people in pupil referral units, a range of award accredited qualifications and vocational learning opportunities are offered here, for young people who are outside of mainstream pathways.
Now looking to take on additional teaching and support staff, there is an opportunity for a fully qualified teacher to deliver functional skills in English and Maths. Teachers with an English or Maths specialisms at secondary level are welcomed, as well as those who have taught functional skills to similar, small groups of learners. The staff to pupil ratio here is very good.
With a strong belief that education is a fundamental building block in transforming people’s lives, this business promotes the right for every young person to have access to an education, regardless of the situation they find themselves in. The majority of young people benefiting from the Education programmes and services here are troubled and/or challenging young people in KS3/KS4 who have been excluded from mainstream school and temporarily require an alternative route to education.
