A local school in Hillingdon are looking for a SEND teacher for a Secondary special school supporting children between the ages 11-19 on the autistic spectrum. The candidate would need experience working with special needs and challenging behaviour.

Our client is passionate about helping young people with complex needs become more independent by using state of the art resources such as a hydrotherapy pool, sports areas and learning lodges in a light, spacious and well-equipped environment. This will be a rewarding role with the opportunity to secure a long term and permanent position within the outstanding school!

To be considered for this role you must have the following:

Must be confident to support young people between ages 11-19 in developing their skills.
Have QTS or equivalent.
Experience in teaching children with behaviour or complex learning difficulties.
Be able to provide a valid DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for one
Be able to provide 2 references from most recent employers.

You will be helping SEN pupils to achieve their full potential and build their confidence for their everyday lives. You will need to use widget symbols and sign language to communicate with these young children and be in regular contact with parents and carers updating them with each individual child's progress. The role is mainly a classroom based role but will also involve participation in outdoor activities ensuring children are about to get to experience several aspects in and out of the school setting.
