Job description
We are currently recruiting for a Science Teacher to work within a SEMH provision in the Middlesbrough area. The desired Teacher will be supported by an outstanding and passionate management team, and will work alongside some excellent practitioners.

We are looking to appoint a suitably qualified and skilled Teacher to join our highly committed SEND team and teach across a range of abilities, ages and subjects. It is preferable that applicants have previous experience working within a SEN environment. You will need to be someone who is enthusiastic, caring and confident, someone who can bring these characteristics to the classroom. We are also looking for someone who is able to adjust, responding to the needs of the pupils, a Teacher who enjoys the challenge of working within a SEN setting.

As a Teacher you will be required to have a good understanding of the national curriculum, as well as strong behaviour and classroom management. The class has pupils with social and emotional needs, with behaviour difficulties, because of this the school desire a teacher who is confident with de-escalation. You will be required to write schemes of work, plan lessons and also be responsible for marking.

To apply for the role you need to be/have:
• UK QTS Primary or Secondary Trained
• good subject knowledge and a passion for teaching
• able to creatively plan and prepare engaging lessons
• hardworking and ambitious
• strong behaviour management
• experience working in Pupil Referral Units (desired not essential)

At Protocol Education we have a dedicated SEND team, who take great pride in the extremely high service levels that we provide to both our schools and our candidates. Our service is honest, efficient, and reliable and will always endeavour to find the ideal school for every individual we work with.

We offer CPD courses on behaviour management and other SEND workshops, including valuable qualifications in Team Teach, attachment theory, de-escalation and introductions to both SEND generally and ASD specifically.
