Job description
SEND Teacher (Walsall - West Midlands)

A SEND teacher is required at an inclusive school based in Walsall.. The school itself is a well run special school for students aged 11-18. Every pupil at the school is treated as an individual and specific programmes are development to meet their needs, therefore a holistic approach is provided to learning through the expertise of a qualified multi-disciplinary staff team.

The class sizes are small due to the nature of the impairments and the maximum capacity is 8 children in each class. There is excellent-in class support provided by experienced high-level teaching assistants which helps to support the ratio of adults to pupils in the school.

The role requires you to be a confident teacher and experience of working with EBD and ASD (Autistic Spectrum Condition) children is essential. You will be required to plan the lessons, write reports and proactively participate in the general running of the school. You must be vigilant with regards to pupil's well being but most importantly it is essential that you are able to think outside the box' and employ a creative attitude to teaching every child.

Main Duties:

• Teaching KS3 to KS5
• Assessing pupils levels and ability
• Differentiating work based on students needs and abilities
• Preparing, planning and marking work
• Good behaviour management of the class room
• Ensuring the schools ethos and policies are being implemented
• Liaising with parents and carers

To apply for this role you must have QTS.

Please note that you will not be considered for this position if you don't possess an enhanced DBS Disclosure, or if you are not eligible to work in the UK.

If you're looking for a deeply rewarding new challenge, please get in touch with me immediately! I look forward to hearing from you.
