Job description
Competitive Salary, Full Time, Teacher Position, Haringey

A school based in East London Hackney, are currently looking for an ASD teacher to join their school in Septemeber. This is a mainstream primary school that has additional ASD unit attached; the unit supports students with mild and severe Autism.

The unit has just over 15 students ranging from ages 4-11, there is three classes with on average 5 students in each class. The school require a teacher with previous experience working with ASD students. This is a good opportunity to work in a great team, in a truly rewarding role. This is a full time teaching position up until the end of the school year, with a competitive salary.

Main Duties:

• Teaching KS1 and KS2 curriculum

• Assessing pupils levels and ability

• Differentiating work based on students needs and abilities

• Preparing, planning and marking work

• Good behaviour management of the class room

• Ensuring the schools ethos and policies are being implemented

• Liaising with parents and carers

The school are looking for individuals who are:

• Experienced working with children

• Pecs or Makaton trained

• Passionate about the potential for education and will go that extra mile every day

• Adaptable, and able to work in a challenging setting

• Interested in working in a different environment

• Committed and resilient
