We are seeking a passionate Secondary SEND Maths Teacher to plan and deliver engaging, differentiated maths lessons tailored to meet the individual needs of each pupil. You will create a structured yet supportive learning environment for students with additional needs, including those who may display challenging behaviour. Success in this role requires creativity, adaptability, and strong collaboration with support staff and the wider school team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality maths lessons that cater to a range of abilities and learning needs.
  • Implement effective behaviour management strategies in line with school policies.
  • Create a positive, structured classroom environment that supports students in overcoming barriers to learning.
  • Monitor, assess, and track pupil progress using a variety of assessment methods.
  • Adapt teaching approaches to suit individual learners and incorporate practical or physical learning where appropriate.
  • Promote inclusion and equal learning opportunities for all pupils.
  • Play an active role in safeguarding and promoting student welfare.

About You:
We are looking for a candidate who:

  • Demonstrates empathy, patience, and understanding when working with students with SEND.
  • Has strong behaviour management skills and the ability to respond to challenges effectively.
  • Is organised, resilient, flexible, and proactive.
  • Brings a positive attitude and a good sense of humour to the role.
  • Has experience teaching maths at secondary level (SEND experience desirable).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
