Job description
A number of Special Needs Schools in Wandsworh - South West London are seeking to appoint LSAs (Learning Support Assistants) to work in their primary classes. All applicants must have recent experience working with children with special educational needs, in either a primary school or a specialist SEND environment.

Personal care (feeding and changing) are component parts of the job but you would not be expected to do this without being given on the job training on the schools best practice procedures.

The classes consist of pupils with a broad range of learning and medical needs, with some of whom are wheelchair bound.

The ideal candidate would have:

• A proven record of working with SEND students with a range of needs.

• A good understanding of P levels.

• Have a basic understanding of PECS and Makaton.

• Registered DBS or be prepared to carry out a new DBS application.
